Aural Rehab

Aural Rehab

Aural rehabilitation, also referred to as AR, involves any therapy or technique used to improve receptive communication for people with hearing loss. This could involve guidance in auditory training, speech reading, and strategies to improve listening and increase communication effectiveness. This approach to hearing health care often begins with a thorough audiologic evaluation, including the prescription of a primary device such as a hearing aid. It can successfully optimize a person’s ability to take part in activities that have been limited as a result of their hearing loss.

The benefits of using AR techniques are extensive. Aural rehab can:

  • Reduce your perception of hearing difficulties
  • Vastly improve your quality of life
  • Help you become a more effective user of hearing technology and communication strategies
  • Ease and improve your adjustment to living with hearing loss moving forward
